Chris Doyle serves as Managing Partner at Carolina Center for Recovery, where he provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and long-term growth direction. With six years in behavioral healthcare and more than 28 years of experience in business development, acquisitions, and operations, Chris brings a seasoned, results-driven approach to building sustainable and impactful organizations.
Professional Background
Prior to entering the behavioral health space, Chris built an extensive career in the restaurant and food service industry. Over nearly three decades, he:
- Led the ground-up construction of 13 restaurants
- Negotiated and acquired 17 restaurant locations
- Negotiated and acquired four preschool businesses
- Earned recognition as Developer of the Year
In addition to his business career, Chris served in the United States Army. He was an Armor Officer, completed Airborne School, and served on active duty from 1988 to 1991, followed by continued service in the reserves through 2006.
At Carolina Center for Recovery, Chris has played a pivotal role in scaling the organization’s footprint and accessibility. Under his leadership and partnership, the organization has grown from:
- 14 PHP beds → 35 PHP beds
- Expanded into an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
- 40 residential beds
- 32 detox beds across North and South Carolina
He also led the acquisition of the real estate for CCR’s current campus and its sister facility, South Carolina Addiction Treatment in Greenville, SC — enabling the organization to serve a broader and more diverse population.
Leadership Philosophy
Chris operates with a clear and consistent philosophy: do the right thing, even when no one is watching. Integrity is the foundation of every decision he makes, both professionally and personally.
He believes in treating people with respect and dignity while practicing servant leadership. His leadership style is often described as being “hard on results and soft on people,” setting high expectations while leading with compassion and understanding.
Approach to Clients & Decision-Making
While much of Chris’s role is behind the scenes, he places significant value on direct interaction with clients and families. When onsite, he prioritizes listening — asking thoughtful questions and gaining insight into each individual’s experience.
These conversations inform his big-picture decision-making, ensuring that Carolina Center for Recovery continues to evolve as a place that delivers high-quality care not only for clients, but also for their loved ones.

What Inspires His Work
Chris’s passion for behavioral healthcare is deeply personal. After spending more than 12 years supporting his son Alex through his battle with addiction, he witnessed firsthand the life-changing impact of quality treatment when Alex entered Carolina Center for Recovery in 2018.
That experience led Chris to become closely involved with the organization, initially coaching the leadership team before ultimately joining as a partner. Since then, he has been committed to expanding access to care and helping more individuals and families experience the same opportunity for recovery.
One of his greatest sources of pride is not only the growth of the organization, but also his son’s continued progress and success in recovery.
Outside the Office
During his downtime, Chris enjoys reading, golfing, exercising, and spending time with his wife and son. His personal experiences, resilience, and commitment to family continue to shape both his leadership and his purpose.
